Although Gmail is now the dominant email platform, some people still use other email services, such as Yahoo and Outlook. It is very easy to add a forwarding email address to your Yahoo Mail account. The only problem is that you have to pay for a Yahoo Pro account in order to have this feature. Assuming you have it, just go to Yahoo settings and add the forwarding address.
How to transfer Yahoo Mail to Gmail (desktop)
To transfer Yahoo Mail to Gmail, first click on the Settings cog in the upper right corner. A square will fall. Click on More settings.
Now go to Mailboxes, and on the right side, at the bottom, you will see a Sender section. Note that if you don’t have a paid Yahoo Pro account, this feature will be grayed out and unavailable.
Add the email address you want to forward your Yahoo Mail to. You will be informed that a verification email will be sent to this address. When you click on the verification link, a green check mark will appear. This is the transfer all set up. Send a test email to the Yahoo address to verify that everything is working.
Obviously, the transfer will only work as long as you continue to pay for the Pro account. Why Yahoo charges something as simple as a forwarding feature is simply baffling. They’re probably wondering why Google is constantly wiping the floor with them. Now, there’s a reason there.
